How to Create a Discount Code Incentive

How to Reward Customers with a Discount After They Leave a Review.

In Fera, you can give incentives to your customers. One option is offering a discount after they submit a review.


⚠️ This feature only works with Shopify stores ⚠️


In this guide, you’ll learn how to set it up.

Step 1: Go to Incentives

  • Open your Fera Dashboard

  • Navigate to Incentives

  • Click + New Incentive

  • Select Discount

Step 2: Choose Your Discount Type

Under Discount Type, you have two options:

  • Fixed Amount Off – A set amount (e.g. $10 off)

  • Percentage Off – A percentage discount (e.g. 15% off)

Step 3: Set the Reward Amount

Enter the discount value you want to offer to your customers.

Step 4: Configure Discount Options

If you click Show more options, you can customize your discount and choose whether to send unique codes.

Generate Unique Codes

You can enable this option to let Fera automatically create a unique discount code for each customer. This improves security and prevents code sharing.

Code Prefix

Add a prefix that will appear at the start of each discount code.

Example:

Prefix: FERA-

Generated code: FERA-AB12CD

This helps you easily recognize Fera-generated discounts in other systems after customers use them.

Step 5: Set Conditions

Enable Required Submission to make sure customers must submit a review to receive the discount incentive.

You can allow:

  • Text-only reviews

  • Photo or video reviews (optional)

Step 6: Customize the Reward Message

You can customize the message customers receive after earning their discount.

Example message:

Hey {{ customer.first_name | default: "friend" }},
Here’s your {{ claim.formatted_amount }} discount code for submitting content to our site: {{ claim.discount_code }}
Use My Discount
Thanks for being so awesome!

Once everything is set, review your settings and click Save.

Your discount incentive is now active and will be sent automatically after a customer submits a review.

Tips for Better Results

  • Test fixed vs percentage discounts to see what works best

  • Use unique codes to avoid misuse

  • Keep your message clear to increase completion rates
